Condition of the Heart …
In this race of Life, there are some who choose not to sign-up at all, others train vigorously for the race, some enter in unprepared … some finish, some don’t and some regardless of how much training they put in don’t finish the race because their heart fails.
This race of Life is all about the Heart. You can train and train and train but if your heart isn’t right then it will not be strong enough to finish the race. A human heart is not strong enough to endure this race. The challenges we face on earth are far too great. Those challenges are meant to shatter the hardened heart and bring Life to a new Heart, One that will never fail. A Heart that always Hopes, always Believes and always Loves. To get this Heart it must be rooted in Love … Love for God and Love for others. That begins with you introducing yourself to Him and spending time with Him. He wants a relationship with you. He wants to know you. I like to use this simple analogy in my workshops. I have received emails from people who say after reading my book they feel like they know me. The more they read it the more they feel like they know me and maybe they even know people who know me but if I were to pass them on the street would I know them? It’s the same for God, He needs to know us. You can go to church every week and read your Bible every day but does He know you? If not, I want to encourage you to open your heart to Love God, to spend time with Him so He can train you for the race. So He can give you a Heart that will finish the race because it never fails. Love never fails, ever.
You are meant to finish this race.

Mountain of God …
Don’t get frustrated with yourself. The most important thing no matter what you face is that you believe God does has a plan for you and you continue to push forward, don’t give up! The battle is fierce, I know and just when you get to a point you begin having joy then something happens and the sorrow comes. The joy will return and soon will stay forever so please focus up no matter what. Know that when those tears come from deep in your soul, and the pain hurts so much you feel you are crying tears of blood … those tears wash away the things that are entangling you, they bring strength and they rise you up to higher and higher levels until you are on that mountain with God.
Take each day at a time. Reflect on the past but don’t live in it. Look forward to the future but don’t have a permanent address there. Be thankful for today because that is where the true gift is hidden.
Faith grows one step at a time. Love grows one Heart at a time. Life emerges one tear at a time.
The sorrows aren’t easy but for each sorrow there will be great joy until all of those tears have washed away the spell (the intoxication) the world has had you under and you are once again a mirror image of Him.
One Moment
It’s that one moment in time when a hand reaches out of nowhere to bring into our very being the beginning of Life. It is the one moment all your tears come together to form a beautiful cascade of clear flowing water.
One moment, “the” moment when suddenly the light turns on and you find yourself standing in front of a mirror that you had no idea was even there.
You walk up.
Put your palms flat to the glass.
Look into the mirror.
No longer do you see your own reflection but something new.
There staring back at you is a beautiful reflection of Love.
It’s the one moment when Life truly begins.

Pursuit of Happiness …
When you need guidance, especially for something very important in your Life, who do you turn to? I want to encourage you to turn to God and ask for direction as to what He needs you to do. When you seek advice from the world, you will receive worldly advice and worldly advice takes you away from the path God has planned for you every time. An example is a student selecting a major for college. This is a pretty important decision. They look to those around them for advice of what to pursue (their school counselors, their parents, their friends). They look at how much money that career will bring them so they can be financially secure and be “successful”. But how many ask God when He is the only One with the exact answers for their life? He is better than Google! :) So they end up in a job where they are miserable. Sure they may make a good paycheck but they are not happy doing what they are doing. True success has nothing to do with money or a title. True success is discovering your purpose and living it no matter what money it brings (money is never a determining factor with your true purpose). With a job you live for the paycheck but your purpose you live to do not desiring any money to do it. When you pursue your purpose, you not only Love what you do but you are blessed from every direction. Why? Because it’s how God works. When we listen to Him and walk in the ways in which He guides, we are blessed at a level far deeper than financial. At that point we realize we are no longer pursuing money but it is pursuing us. Imagine not chasing that dollar but it pursuing you. In your purpose, you are content, you are happy and have so much joy because you are living what you are called to do.
So seek things directly from God, He will guide you to all that is planned for your Life. Some times He may guide you to a person for wise counsel (someone who hears Him to guide and direct you), some times He may speak directly to you and other times He may remain silent which means you are to be still. He will guide you if you let Him. The answers are available for each Heart if you seek, desire and go directly to Him. Seek, desire and achieve all He has called you to be.

Inside your Heart is a Light. A Light is not meant to be hidden. I know, you may not even know it is there or be able to see it because the lid is on so tight. The love in the world has a way of bringing so much hurt that we tend to seal it shut and throw away the key. On top of being sealed shut, the world adds layer upon layer of thick chains making it very difficult to open. One by one each chain must be cut loose – the chain of hurts, the chain of rejections, the chain of mistakes, the chain of unworthiness, etc. … each heavy and tightly binding the Heart. But there IS Hope. No matter how tightly shut or bound our Heart may be, there is one door right in the center that can always be opened. It is a door that only we can choose to open and walk through. It’s the door to God’s Love. Once we open that door, His Love lights within us no matter how tightly we have shut off our Heart or how many heavy chains are wrapped around it because this Love is lit within … from the inside out. This beautiful Divine Love will break the chains one by one and bring the One Key in all the universe that unlocks our Heart forever bringing contentment and freedom. It’s time for your Heart to be free of the chains that have bound it for so long.

Your Heartbeat …
The mind is a powerful thing but the Heart holds within it everything we need.
Your mind will only continue to race if you fuel it. So if you want to rest peacefully at night and have been wondering why that isn’t happening, please stop fueling your mind … enough God says, Enough! Shift out of your mind and into your Heart. Set quiet time aside with God so He can help you with this. It’s like a student who complains that they keep failing math but yet they are not showing up for class allowing the teacher to teach or help them. Is it the teacher’s fault or the student’s? God is not failing you … you have to show up for class.
In your quiet time with Him, you will be shown the things in your life that are fueling the fire in your mind. Layer by layer He will help you to remove them but you need to first seek and then listen for His instruction. Many seek but few stop to listen. The only Fire He wants fueled is in the Heart so quit wasting the fuel on the mind. The mind will send you on a rat race every time leaving you feeling defeated, stressed, hopeless and like you can never get your head above water. But when the Heart leads and instructs the mind, then you will see major changes in your life and quickly. Everyone seems to focus on that powerful mind seemingly forgetting that the mind is utterly useless unless the Heart is beating.

You are worthy …
Growing up Mom and Dad would discipline us when we did something wrong but always, always, always loved us unconditionally. I feel so strongly in my Heart there are many out there who have made mistakes, many who feel they have done nothing but make the wrong choices in their lives so they truly believe that they are not worthy of God’s Love. Please know God does Love you where you are today no matter where that is in your journey and don’t let anyone and I mean anyone tell you He doesn’t. What’s important to understand is although He Loves unconditionally, what He doesn’t always Love is the behavior and choices people make. The danger comes in when people think His unconditional Love means they can do whatever they want whenever they want – it doesn’t. It means He meets you where you are and walks with you bringing correction and changes until He has transformed you into His image (and as impossible as that seems, He can and will do it).
So today please know and understand He does Love you, it is the behavior and choices He wants to change … if you confuse the two then you will find yourself paralyzed by unworthiness never being able to bloom into who He has called you to be. The world needs who you are, do you understand that? There are no extra parts in this world, each of us are here for a very specific reason … please take off the glasses of unworthiness so you can see.

Who do you trust?
If you were blindfolded and had to cross the busiest New York street before you could see again, who is the one person in the earth that you could trust to get you safely to the other side? Take a moment to think about who that one person is. I mean this is your life, you can’t see where you are going so you have to trust them completely. You have to cross the street, it is the only hope for you to have the blindfold removed. What person in all the world can you trust with your life? Okay, you have his or her name right?
Now trust God that much.
When we Believe He has a plan for us and never give up no matter what we face (even when facing the impossible) …
When we walk into the darkness with only His voice to guide us and protect us …
When we are willing to give it all up (the things that mean the most to us) surrendering free will (our wants and desires) for Divine Will (His wants and desires) …
Is when He knows the depth of our faith and He counts us righteous.
Abraham was counted righteous on account of his faith. He believed the impossible when God said Sara would birth a baby although they were old in age. When the baby finally arrived, the baby he waited 100 years for and loved more than anything – God asked him to place him on the altar as a sacrifice. Can you imagine? Abraham stepped forward with his precious child to do as he was told, that is when God said STOP! Now I know your faith and on account of that faith I count you righteous – you will be blessed and all of your descendants will be blessed. Imagine endless Blessings all on account of your Faith … who do you trust?
True Faith is spoken when one walks forward in the steps that say it all.

Thankfulness …
I know at times it is difficult to get motivated …
- To get out of bed to a job you feel doesn’t appreciate you.
- To be the wife/mom who feels her family thinks everything magically happens not understanding all she has to do to keep things afloat.
- To be the father/husband who works so hard to provide for his family but feels it is expected instead of his family being thankful for his hard work and what it brings for them all.
- To be a student putting everything into his/her studies feeling like no matter what, it is never enough to please his/her parents – they always want more.
The list could go on forever. However, no matter how many things would be listed, there is one Word that changes it all “thankfulness”.
- To the person who has been without a job and lost their house, their car, the ability to feed their family – they would change places with you in a heartbeat.
- To the wife/mom who is fighting illness (i.e. cancer, auto-immune disorders, disease), she longs to have the opportunity to care for her family again if she could just get well enough to do it (I know, I’ve been there).
- To the father/husband who is now confined to a wheelchair after a car accident, he would give anything to be in your shoes and have one more chance to provide for his family.
- To the student who has struggled with learning disabilities their whole life, they would want just the chance to achieve what you do in school because it would give them a feeling of self accomplishment that no one could take away.
Did you ever consider that God is not changing your circumstance because He is waiting for you to change your perspective? We go through things in life to see what we are about, to test our Hearts, to grow … when you begin to look at things differently, you will be amazed how suddenly your circumstances begin to change. For they weren’t there to make you miserable but to bloom the seed of thankfulness planted within your Heart.
Although we may not be able to change the circumstance, what we can change is the way in which we perceive it.

Prayer for Love, Peace, and Joy …
Prayer is a powerful thing so I want to encourage you to use it. Be quick to say a prayer for someone and quick to ask for one and please don’t forget to pray for yourself! Yes, it is okay to pray to God for you! Many people don’t realize that, they somehow think it is wrong to pray for themselves – it is not. It’s crucial actually.
If we have a huge group of people praying for Love, Peace, and Joy in the world but their hearts do not hold those very things, how is it we think that Love, Peace and Joy will dwell in the land? The Love, Peace and Joy must reside within the individual Hearts first in order to bring it into the world. We must desire that change in our individual Heart, our individual Life then we will see the change in the world around us. Pray for the state of your Heart to match what you hope to see in the world. God works through the willing Hearts, are you willing? The change starts within you first.

Spiritual Bank Accounts …
In a time when many are facing the hardest financial struggles they’ve ever had, much of the focus of people’s lives is centered around money – whether it is how much they have or how much they don’t have. Many people believe that they’ll be happy when they can pay that bill or have the dream house they always wanted. Often it causes them to unknowingly center their life focus on obtaining those things only to discover once they have them, they are still empty inside. Why?
We currently live in a world that teaches, sells, promotes and markets a life of happiness when you obtain that dream vacation, house, car, job, diamond … basically when your bank account is full allowing you to have all of the things you ever wanted. But what hasn’t been being taught is the most important bank account we can ever deposit into for ourselves and others is our Spiritual Bank Account. If our Spiritual Bank Account is not getting deposited into but only withdrawn from, then no matter how much money we have or how many toys we have accumulated, we will be empty inside and be less than a happy camper. We will not have contentment but always long for more. So I want to encourage you to first deposit into the Spiritual Bank Account of the Hearts around you. Each Heart is meant to have abundant treasures and God has placed within our own hands the ability to Bless others which He then Blesses us back. Lift the spirits of those around you by bringing Love, laughter, fun, encouragement, kindness, etc. which deposits into their Spiritual Bank Account. You’ll find when you start making deposits into the Spiritual Bank Accounts around you, your Spiritual Bank Account will runneth over. It’s time to start filling up the bank accounts that matter.
